Last week, we touched upon the net neutrality issue to help explain and add context to the buzz around a forthcoming Google-Verizon deal. That "deal," as you may have heard, was announced on Monday.

The first thing to note is that it's not an actual deal.

Well, well. It appears that Prince was right. Electronics really are out to get us. In a fine example of a guy getting burned (literally) by his attachment to technology, an Apple customer recently brought a charred iPhone 4 into an AT&T store looking for an exchange. And some answers. It seems that his smart phone became increasingly hotter while plugged into the man's computer with a standard USB cable, finally sparking into flames.

So you've gone by and drooled over the newest Apple product at your local Apple store, wishing the thing didn't cost $500+. Or maybe you've decided it's not worth the money just yet and you can wait for the next generation(s) to be released. Maybe you're totally anti-iPad and have decided it'll never be worth having yet another device to cart around.

This morning, the social-media bible Mashable reported on yet another of those annoying Twitter bugs -- a "large-scale phishing attack" in which a message that says "This you???" prompts users to enter their Twitter passwords on a fake Twitter login page.

Sure enough, we had two such messages waiting for us in our inbox.

While fans are still pouring into theaters to see James Cameron's multi-million grossing 3D film Avatar, DirecTV will announce an upcoming 3D channel for their customers, reports HDGuru.com. DirecTV will make their big announcement at the next Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 7. 2010.
