Starring a freakishly tall librarian type with a beehive hairdo and full-body spandex, Bayonetta might have been the most embarrassing game of the year, but it was also one of the most fun. It offered upbeat J-pop, religiously confused iconography, and combat so fast, it could give you whiplash. Not since Devil May Cry 3 has a third-person brawler combined so much speed with so much power — and the looks to match.
