A public works crew is reportedly on its way to Quincy to clean up the wet spot left by the entire neighborhood spontaneously orgasming at the news that Aerosmith have invited Dropkick Murphys to be their "special guests" at the Comcast Center (nee the Tweeter Center, nee Great Woods) in Mansfield on June 16.
The weirdest thing about this pairing? How un-weird it feels to have these two bands playing together.
This temporarily assuages our disappointment that the role of Andy Samberg's mom in the "Motherlovers" sketch was not given to Joe Perry, aka Cruella De Vil.
From the inbox (and beware that the asterisk in the ticket prices below means "add $7 for service charges"):
Hometown heroes the Dropkick Murphys have accepted an invitation to join
America’s Greatest Rock & Roll Band-and Boston’s own- Aerosmith as their special guests at
the Comcast Center on June 16.  In order to provide fans of both bands with the
best experience possible, open air reserved seats have been added at the lawn
seat ticket price of just $35.00*.  Don’t miss an opportunity to see these two
electrifying Boston-bred bands as they rock the Comcast Center together this summer!
Sort of sounds like "Dropkick Murphys hooligans can't afford to sit in the good seats, so we'll open up the lawn," does it not?
