If a trip to wine country is prohibitively expensive, take heart and head to 33 Restaurant & Lounge (33 Stanhope Street, Boston) on August 30. From 5 to 7 pm, the restaurant continues its Hot Off the Vine series with “Napa vs. Sonoma,” which pairs sommelier Paul Westerkamp’s sampling of wines from the region with food courtesy of Executive Chef Anthony Dawodu. The cost is $20 and reservations are recommended; call 617.572.3311 or e-mail wine@33restaurant.com.
