Regardless of what you thought of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, you have to admit it was a thorough attempt to encapsulate geek culture. From the 8-bit Universal Studios logo opener to Michael Cera’s twee-ness, the filmmakers left no nerdy stone unturned. They even recruited Anamanaguchi to soundtrack the video game, ’cause after taking such pains to create an homage to video-game culture, you’re not going to get any old chiptune band — you’re going to get the best damn chiptune band around.
