Cloud Cult + The Wilderness of Manitoba
Environmentally hyper-conscious experimental indie-rockers Cloud Cult recorded their eighth and latest album, Light Chasers (featuring former Tapes ’n Tapes bassist Shawn Neary), in a geothermal-powered studio on an organic farm in the heartland of Minnesota. The hippies-cum-indie-artists have been compared to the likes of Arcade Fire, and their music is similarly expansive and grandiose. Known for creating paintings on stage during shows (which they then auction off post-performance), Cloud Cult are an example of free-spirited artistry, fusing music, art, and social consciousness in a career that’s spanned almost two decades and weathered the loss of founding members Craig and Connie Minowa’s child. Joined by the Wilderness Of Manitoba, they’ll breathe some fresh — and smog-free — air into the 'Dise tonight.
